'Normie' describes the type of person who lets other people decide about what one believes to be good and true. The success of modern homo sapiens has been a triumph of human programmability, but the AI age needs epistemology and ethics from first principles.
@Plinz So it is great that most people are normies. It keeps us aligned. We need most AGIs to be normies as well?
@Plinz Does man have a nature, human nature, or is it human programmability? Working together made us successful but typically in concert with human nature not in ignorance of it.
@Plinz I find people who use the word "normie" as repulsively arrogant.
@Plinz we’re all normies, just to a different degree. to scrape programming completely is to give up on human experience. kinda what happens when one goes full-on buddhist.
@Plinz Ooch, ethics from first principles! Jesus, how long is that going to take? 1. Life is valuable. What next?
@Plinz That way AI might conclude that humans celebrate 'thinking outside the box,' yet spend considerable time building boxes around their ideas.
