Galaxy Digital on Tuesday launched a Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative, pledging up to $5 million in developer grants, a research program, and a new advisory council to help harden the network against the eventual arrival of powerful quantum computers. The Nasdaq-listed firm said the multi-pillar effort will fund work on post-quantum cryptographic solutions, publish analysis through Galaxy Research, and convene a Quantum Advisory Council whose inaugural members include University of Calgary professor Barry Sanders, MIT Sea Grant Knauss Fellow Damien Bérubé, and Boston University computer science professor Eran Tromer. Galaxy said it expects to begin accepting grant applications immediately.

If you'd bought Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) three years ago, you'd be sitting on impressive gains. The cryptocurrency is up 175% over that time frame (as of July 16). But like most cryptocurrencies, it's in a slump right now, down 71% from its all-time high in January 2025. It's anybody's guess what the next three years could look like for Solana. Back in 2023, VanEck forecast Solana's valuation in 2030, with a bear case of $10 and a bull case of $3,200. One of the biggest proponents of this comprehensive new crypto legislation has been Bessent. The Treasury secretary has been urging Congress to pass the new legislation this year, and originally set a deadline of July 4. There's still a chance that it gets passed before the midterm elections. While the Clarity Act will give a huge boost to the entire crypto market, the biggest effects could be felt by companies such as Circle. That's especially true if issuers can offer a generous yield on stablecoins to passive investors. Some have even conjectured that this could result in tens of billions of dollars moving out of traditional bank deposits and into stablecoins such as USDC.

Citadel Securities has invested $400 million in Crypto.com at a $20 billion valuation, marking the crypto exchange's first-ever institutional funding round and the latest sign of Wall Street's deepening embrace of digital assets. Announced Thursday, the deal hands the market maker founded by billionaire Ken Griffin a stake in the Singapore-based exchange, which said the money will speed its expansion into "all asset classes, including tokenized securities and derivatives." Founded in 2016, Crypto.com had never taken on institutional capital before.

Numerai (CRYPTO: $NMR) has completed a third strategic buyback of Numeraire, purchasing another $1.2 million of NMR as the crowdsourced hedge fund expands its assets, contributor base and onchain incentive system. The latest transaction lifts Numerai's total NMR repurchases to $3.2 million in less than a year. The company said the buyback was executed through Coinbase Institutional at or near the bid price over several weeks, allowing it to accumulate tokens without placing abrupt pressure on the relatively thin market.

Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: $HOOD) is trying to turn its 27.6 million funded customers into an onchain distribution advantage as Robinhood Chain moves beyond its opening burst of memecoin trading. The Ethereum layer-2 network generated about $878 million in decentralized exchange volume on July 12, briefly overtaking Base and Ethereum. Much of that activity came from speculative tokens rather than the tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds that anchored Robinhood's original pitch.

Crypto.com has secured a $400m investment from market maker Citadel Securities. The deal values the cryptocurrency exchange at $20bn, according to a company statement. The transaction also marks its "first institutional funding round" in its decade-long history, it added. Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek said: "We are thrilled to work with Citadel Securities to continue driving the crypto industry into a new era of institutionalisation.

Citadel Securities has invested $400 million in Crypto.com, valuing the exchange at $20 billion. It is the first institutional capital the platform has raised since launching in 2016. The check stands out against a sharp pullback in crypto fundraising. Deal counts have collapsed even as a few large platforms continue to attract nine-figure investments.

Crypto's total market capitalization fell 12.6% in the second quarter of 2026, yet two segments moved in the opposite direction. Prediction markets and tokenized collectibles both posted strong growth while every other tracked sector contracted. The wider market dropped to $2.1 trillion, its third straight quarterly decline.
