@FootballFood How can anyone have so little self-awareness?
Manchester United sleepwalking towards another lost season as winless run goes on with Leeds draw espn.com/soccer/story/_…
If not Conte, Poch would dump the USA job for Man Utd in a heartbeat.
@RioMoussallem Very, very sadly – I'm now out. The signs are unmistakable – the team is poorly coached, ill-conditioned, and in-game Carrick just can't impose himself on the game. Conte is available. Poch would dump the USA job for United in a heartbeat.
Man Utd need a dramatic reboot. That should start with the sacking of both Michael Carrick and Jason Wilcox. Neither are up to the job. Next: Conte is available and clearly wants the job. Go and get him.
I think an important responsibility in life is to admit when you were wrong. Accept it, own up to it, move forward. I was wrong about Michael Carrick. He isn't good enough to be Man Utd manager. The start to this season shows that, as does his passive in-match demeanor.
Funny how he purchased a defender for himself but not for the team.

@markgoldbridge Brent – tell us Gary Neville is an atrocious boss and a stupid owner of the Overlap, why don't you?
Andy Burnham's relationship with City's owners & ties to Abu Dhabi is going to come under increasing scrutiny & his comments last week will lead to it becoming one of the biggest stories of the year. Their shady investment in Manchester is arguably the reason he is Prime Minister. While the story on City's cheating & corruption grows in the public eye, so too will knowledge of their ‘sweetheart deals’ in Manchester. It's any wonder he's willing to defend them like he did, but by doing so he's opened a pandora's box he can't close. Speaking like he did was a catastrophic error.
Here's the MoS story as it appears in the paper. And to be clear, it was a minority section of Man City's support who invoked Helen's death in their attacks against me. I rarely even referred to her illness before she died.
The human cost of reporting on Man City’s cheating for 15 years. It’s on the Mail website today and will be in the MoS paper tomorrow (Sunday) but they backed my reporting 100%. That reporting continues on my Substack. Google it for details. dailymail.com/sport/football…
@thecitydefender You've just defined "sportswashing".
David Ornstein was outstanding on the The Overlap. His conduct throughout this whole City cheating saga, while breaking the biggest football story of not only his career - but this century - has been exemplary. The media coverage, from Nick Harris, Rob Harris, Matthew Syed, David Conn, Matt Slater & Martyn Zeigler's many years of reporting, shows there is still a place for proper journalism. And this Premier League investigation never happens without Rui Pinto & Der Spiegel's Football Leaks team.
If you want to understand the damage done to the ethics and honesty of English football by Manchester City’s cheating, read the rancid post below — City is a cancer eating away at the body of our beautiful game.
On paper yeah it’s “cheating” but let’s be honest it’s not is it, a billionaire bought a club outside of the big 4 and wanted them to be the best He cooked the books to use his own money and make them a huge footballing power that’s now self sufficient Wouldn’t surprise me if
Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.
Pep Guardiola’s Man City was built on a false premise, funded by financial chicanery, for his benefit. That’s why his legacy is completely tarnished espn.com/soccer/story/_…
@ManCity @rubendias Six years ago you were fucking cheats.
@registarodri Are you fucking kidding?
114 charges. Over £900m in financial irregularities. EIGHTEEN seasons of English football tainted by City 💔 This is the BIGGEST ever scandal in sporting history!!! Strip them of their titles. Kick them out the pyramid! NEVER let a state own a football club again.
@FabrizioRomano Just how far up Sheikh Mansour arse does your head go, Fab?
There is only one punishment that matches the astonishing scope and depth of these now proven charges. Manchester City should be expelled from all tiers of football. In effect, it should cease to exist as a football club.
BREAKING: The Premier League confirm an independent Commission has found Manchester City guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, and the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with
