I hate being a non-avoidant socially anxious person, it means I actually participate in a lot of social events, but always feel like shit both before and after (and like 60% of my cognitive resources are always spent on thinking about social events).

Completely agree, having the best mentor (for yourself) is even more important than your topic I would argue (as long as you have some interest in the topic).

I am not #bipolar, I cope and manage with a mental illness called bipolar disorder. When somebody is suffering with cancer, they are not called "cancer." Just a tiny clarification that makes those of us with bipolar disorder and other mental health illnesses feel better.
