We'll be spending a lot more time trying to understand the outputs of language models. A few thoughts, tips & tricks: Writing. Something I've had success with: Ask your LLM to explain something in ASD-STE100, it's a controlled language specification originally developed for aerospace maintenance documentation. LLMs well-versed in this language and it comes with heavy constraints on clean writing style that I often find a lot more readable. Sometimes I've tried to soften it a bit e.g. ask for "80% of the way to ASD-STE100" because the spec is quite stringent. But even better: Diagrams / images. Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram. These can be a lot easier to process, parse, and understand. But even better: Web pages. Ask for output "in HTML" to get a beautiful, interactive webpage. LLMs are getting really good at frontend and can create beautiful experiences, animations, etc. But even better: Explainer videos. The output format I am most bullish on is fully custom / bespoke explainer videos generated on any arbitrary topic. Experiment with things like "Create a 3b1b style video explainer on X. Use my ElevenLabs API key for audio narration". (you'd need an API key for the latter or you can ask your LLM to find you decent free alternatives that use your local compute). This is actually starting to work! In summary: - As LLMs get better, they will do more and more of the legwork autonomously, and a lot more of our work will rise up the abstractions into oversight and understanding. - Luckily, LLMs can help here too because as intelligence and code are increasingly abundant, you can ask for large, custom, discardable software artifacts (e.g. web apps, video explainers) that would have never made sense to create before. Push the boundaries here and you'll be surprised.

@OlaMarvin @shri_shobhit That’s something I wouldn’t want to happen even for people I dislike.
I met a yogi near the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, and he taught me one of the best lessons about karma I have ever heard. While discussing Jyotisha and karma, I asked him a simple question: “What is the true meaning of karma?” In a very humble way, he replied, “Karma is a very complex subject. Perhaps it is one of the hardest and deepest subjects to discuss, and I don’t have the authority to define it completely.” But then he said something that stayed with me. “Your intention is the primary thing. What you think and why you perform an action matters the most.” He explained that you may perform something that appears positive and good, but if your intention behind it is wrong, that action can eventually harm you. On the other hand, an action may appear unpleasant or negative to someone, but if your intention is pure, it can ultimately help you. Then he gave me a beautiful example. Suppose someone is unwell and you give them a very bitter medicine. They may dislike the taste, become angry with you, or even curse you for making them take it. But your intention is to make them healthy. The bitterness is temporary; the purpose behind the action is positive. Now imagine giving someone a very pleasant and delicious dish, knowing that it is poisonous. They may enjoy it, appreciate you for it, and think you have done something good for them. But if your intention is to harm them, the karma behind that action is completely different. We discussed many other subjects that day, but this was the one lesson that stayed with me. Karma is not always about how an action appears from the outside. Sometimes, the real weight of an action lies in the intention behind it. That is why, no matter what you do, always try to keep your intention pure and positive. Perhaps this is what makes karma so subtle. We can control our actions to some extent, but the real test is what is happening within us while we perform them. The world may judge us by what it sees, but karma sees the intention behind it. So before asking whether an action is right or wrong, perhaps we should first ask ourselves: “Why am I doing this?” If the intention is pure, sincere, and free from the desire to harm, we are already walking in the right direction.
When India accidentally wiped out its vultures, half a million people died in five years. The bird doing zoomies in this video runs the most extreme digestive system in the animal kingdom. Vulture stomach acid sits near pH 1, strong enough to destroy anthrax, rabies, and botulism in the carcasses they eat. A flock strips a cow to bone in about 45 minutes. India had 50 million of them. Free sanitation at national scale, in a country where religious custom means most cattle die natural deaths and every dead cow becomes a carcass someone has to deal with. Then the patent on diclofenac expired in 1994. Farmers started using the cheap painkiller on livestock. Trace amounts left in a carcass cause kidney failure in vultures. Within a decade, 50 million birds fell to a few thousand. The fastest collapse of any bird species since the passenger pigeon. The carcasses didn't disappear. Feral dogs took the vultures' place and brought rabies with them. Rotting remains leached into waterways. In districts where vultures once thrived, human death rates rose more than 4 percent. Economists at Chicago and Warwick put the toll at 100,000 extra deaths a year and $69 billion in annual damages. So yes, the goofy bird sprinting down the walkway is adorable. It's also a disease firewall that evolution spent millions of years building and one generic painkiller nearly erased in ten.
I’ll never look at another Vulture the same again 😂
This Indian startup just made history. A tiny team of 8 from Bhubaneswar just proved to the world that they can manufacture pharmaceuticals in near space. And they did all of this in just 6 months. But why they are doing it is the huge part. Take the example of Keytruda, which is one of the world's biggest cancer drugs. Patients need hundreds of milligrams of it. But squeezing that much medicine into a tiny injection is extremely difficult. Because at high concentrations these giant protein molecules can clump together and the liquid becomes thick. Kinda like adding too much protein powder to a tiny glass of milk. But in microgravity, something magical happens. Those same molecules can form much more uniform crystals - potentially allowing scientists to pack the same amount of medicine into a much smaller volume. And the insane part is - you don't need to send the drugs into space every time you need to create a new batch. In fact, Serendipity has proved that you can create like a tiny "mother batch" in space. And use that same batch to create much larger batches on Earth. They've already tested their autonomous pharma factory during their near space mission - while safely recovering the samples. And the fact that Serendipity did all of this with a team of 8 people out of Bhubaneshwar with a tiny budget is kinda crazy. Next step: Manufacturing in Space
🚨 Bhubaneswar-based Serendipity Space (@serendipityind) has successfully tested India’s first autonomous pharma factory, Alchemy, on a near-space mission. It crystallized drug compounds and preserved them during recovery, testing key tech for future microgravity manufacturing.

Nishant is 32 years old. He makes 65 LPA, works in Google. He is dating Soumya. She is 30 years old. She makes 50 LPA and works in Oracle. They both vibe with each other, have shared hobbies, mutual life goals, complementary lifestyles, common values, supportive families and hence they decide to marry. They marry for companionship, and to have a family of their own someday. They stay separate from their parents, in Bengaluru, in a rented 2BHK in a plush gated society, without any interference from any in-laws. They contribute to finances and expenses equally. They hire a maid and cook for the chores. Their life is sorted. The first 2 months go on smoothly. They go on their honeymoon to Iceland, and enjoy their time together. And then small fights and friction starts to happen from the 3rd month onwards. > Nishant has gained weight due to erratic eating. Soumya keeps telling him to workout more and lose it fast. He is doing his best, but she nags him daily. > Nishant goes on a work trip for 2 days and when he comes back, he finds that the clothes he washed, are still in the washing machine, and she didn't put it to dry. > Nishant takes Soumya out for dinner on his birthday. He wants to have an ocassional drink, but Soumya schools him. She tells him not to. He doesn't drink, but they still end up fighting. > Soumya wants to talk everyday about her work & office with Nishant in the evening. But Nishant wants some quiet time. He wants to detach from office work after work hours. They again fight over this. > The tension from their fights seep into the bedroom and physical intimacy dies. They cuddle, they kiss. But they couldn't have sex. Nishant starts to have performance anxiety. He couldn't get it up. He is being evaluated by Soumya all the time in his marriage, and he starts to feel that pressure in the bed. > Nishant explains to Soumya what's happening. He over-explains. She listens, but only to retaliate, not to understand. She steps away from the fight because too much over explanation gives her stress and she can't handle it. > He wants the fights to stop. He wants to resolve the situation. So, he can't fathom why is she avoiding the situation. That why is she running away from tough conversations. > Eventually, she leaves the shared home, and starts to live separately. They try to connect, they try to resolve, but the same patterns re-appear. Even their parents couldn't make them reconcile. > Eventually, they get divorced. So, what happened here? Disrespect? Abuse? Toxicity? Who was at fault? Nishant? Soumya? Well, what's at fault here is that Nishant expected a man in Soumya's body, and Soumya expected a woman in Nishant's body. That's how they communicated with each other. An avoidant attachment personality (Soumya) married an anxious attachement personality (Nishant). Everything looked hunky dory in the beginning, but when life showed them the mirror, their deeply suppressed wounds broke open and laid bare their core personas. And this is the fundamental reason, why many marriages are failing these days. People expect their partners to think like them, speak like them, act like them. But how is that possible? A man's wiring won't become like a woman's. A woman's wiring won't become like a man's. We all spend so many years of our lives, studying for our careers. How much time do we really spend to get ready for married life? Do any of us take pre-marriage coaching, do we read psychology books, do we do a course in understanding the psyche of opposite gender? 99% people don't. Then, how do you expect marriages to survive? How do you even put in the work, if you don't know what's the right direction of that work? The need for marriages have changed. The modern needs aren't black & white like traditional gender roles (for survival). The modern needs warrant pre-marriage preparation (for effective companiosnship). Save. Repost. Comment if you need reco about what to read. ....
In 2016, Dr. Geetha Manjunath was heading AI research at Xerox's Bengaluru lab, a role that followed a PhD from IISc, a stint as Principal Scientist at HP Labs, and over two decades building enterprise AI systems. Then her cousin, in her early forties, was diagnosed with breast cancer at a stage too advanced to treat. "The mammogram had missed her cancer earlier," Geetha would later say. She quit her job soon after. Mammography, the global standard for breast cancer screening, has real limits. It uses ionising radiation, is often painful enough that women actively avoid it, and is known to be less reliable in younger women and in the dense breast tissue common across Indian women. In India, where breast cancer accounts for over a quarter of all cancer diagnoses and the five-year survival rate trails far behind the United States and Australia, late detection is not a statistic. It is the difference between a cure and a funeral. Geetha had spent years working with thermal imaging on unrelated projects. She wondered if temperature variation in breast tissue could reveal what mammograms missed, and built the science to test it. The result, Thermalytix, requires no radiation, no incisions, and no physical contact: a woman sits before a thermal sensor for a few minutes, and an AI model trained on clinical data analyses the image. Niramai Health Analytix, the company Geetha founded and now leads as CEO and CTO, has since screened over 300,000 women across more than 20 countries, built on 39 patents and validated in 55+ peer-reviewed clinical studies. Geetha herself has been named to Forbes India's Top 20 Self-Made Women and inducted as a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. For India, where cost and discomfort keep millions of women away from regular screening, a radiation-free test that can be deployed in a primary clinic is not a convenience. It is a chance to catch what would otherwise be caught too late.
This is Anagha Rajesh. And she is crazy. She wants to store data in bacterial DNA. Her startup is called BioCompute. And last year, they actually did it. They stored data in DNA and retrieved it in their tiny lab in Bengaluru. This is a huge moment. But why is she even doing it? Because DNA is the ultimate storage tool available to us. Just 1 gm of DNA can store about 215 petabytes of data - that's like storing over 2 million movies in 4K. On top of that - this data can last for literally 1000s of years. Right now, they still need to figure out a way to make the reading and writing process faster and cheaper. But if BioCompute solves this problem - we could theoretically store all the data created in the world every year in the palm of our hands. And that would be insane. P.S. Check out this video from @vy0mbhatia going to Anagha's lab and actually doing it.
why did we put chaar diwari inside of a bacterium's dna? because a silicon chip can only fit transistors till the size of atoms. however, a single gram of DNA is so dense that theoretically it can store over 200 petabytes of data. DNA is so durable that info on it can survive
A couple from Bangalore wanted somewhere to escape to. They had one brief for their architect: make it feel like an extension of the land, and of themselves. This is Urukka Veedu. Thally, Tamil Nadu. Śūnya. 1,750 sq ft. 2025. Terracotta roof tiles over a steel frame. Rough-plastered walls that step back so the landscape takes over. Louvred clerestory windows pulling breeze through the building without a single air conditioner working overtime. Earthen pots embedded in the filler slab ceiling. Teak carved into every door frame and shelf edge. Look at the living room. A custom masonry sofa built into the floor, wide enough to sleep on, designed to hold a crowd. No imported furniture catalogue. No statement piece from overseas. Just a room that knows exactly what it is for. This is what happens when a home is designed around how people actually live rather than how a catalogue says they should. We spend more of our life inside our homes than anywhere else, and most of what we are building on this continent does not deserve that time. Build better. Your home is not a status symbol. It is where your life happens. More images in the comments. Project: Urukka Veedu, Thally, Tamil Nadu, India Architect: Śūnya | Sai Keerthana & Shiv Nayak Photography: Vedant Sharma
