An ideal press release should have thanked CA's for their contribution in filing Non Audited ITR's in spite of the portal glitches & therefore Suo Moto extending the audit due date to provide them time for audits. Instead, this press release says that CBDT is doing us a favour.
The language of the press release. Wowww. They really do hate the CA faternity. But still, even if done under legal pressure, thank you for extending the due dates.
Audits filed Till 23-09-24: 13.80 Lakh Audits filed Till 23-09-25: 2.73 Lakh Why have only 20% audits been filed this year. Aisa toh nahi hai ki India ke Saare CA ek saath aalsi ho gaye. Kuch toh hoga reason. Thoda toh common sense lagaao @IncomeTaxIndia #ExtendAuditDueDate
The numbers speak for themselves. CA's have not become lazy all of a sudden, there are systematic issues which have prevented Audit Report filing. Everyone knows this. The issue is that CBDT doesn't accept and ICAI can't speak. #ExtendAuditDueDate
Now, Karnataka High court has also granted 1 month extension. Thank you @KSCAA_CA . As the Institute is incapable of performing it's job, we have to go through our own associations. Sad, but true. #DueDateExtension
As I had already said, I had zero expectations from the institute. Something which should have been done by @theicai at the national level to set an example is being done by @JodhpurTba . PS: To all the CA's, please pay your membership fees on time. #DueDateExtension
It is hilarious and sad at the same time that the tax bar association of a City has more guts and a stronger spine than @theicai . #DueDateExtension
I have zero expectations from the institute. They simply lack the spine. For the elected members, Nothing is more important than taking photos with ministers. ICAI dictionary doesn't have the following words: protest, unity, spine, accountability. #Extend_due_date_now
I don't know the reason, but this government has some special hatred towards the CA community. They enjoy making CA's suffer. I remember in 2020, the date was extended just 7-8 days before the 31st October deadline. That was in the corona period. Insensitive. #ExtendDueDate
I just cant understand the thought behind not extending the TAR Due date. They themselved had extended the ITR date to 15th sep, they know that it is the CA's who do the ITR work and the Audit work. So now why not extend the date? Why are they holding back? #TaxAuditExtension
Just a heads up, the site is not working today also. Even the main page is not opening today and it is just 10AM. The arrogance of @IncomeTaxIndia is just baffling. To extend the date by just 24 hours and then not even ensuring that the portal is working is criminal.
The biggest victims today are the people who were trying to pay their advance tax. The advance tax 2nd installment date should be extended by the government. But they won't do it as it would mean accepting the fact the portal was not working. #Extend_due_date_now
