10) Dairy: BAD 👎 Some people with psoriasis report that cutting back on dairy products eases their symptoms. Trial-and-error may give you an idea if dairy should be off your list. If you find dairy is okay, make sure you pick fat-free, 1% fat, or low-fat dairy. #psoriasis

9) Lean Meats: GOOD 👍 If you eat meat, choose lean types such as white-meat chicken or turkey. Some people with psoriasis report that their condition seems to improve if they limit red meat. Fatty red meats have been linked to increased inflammation in the body. #psoriasis

8) Fried Foods: BAD 👎 Fried foods taste good, but are not good for anyone. Try to keep clear of fried foods at home and at fast-food joints. These foods are known to promote inflammation in the body, and are associated with heart disease and other health conditions. #psoriasis

7) Carrots: GOOD 👍 A diet that's high in fruits and good vegetables can have an anti-inflammatory effect. Carrots are one of the best dietary sources of beta-carotene, but that's not all: they also contain vitamin C, psoralen and a wealth of other nutrients. #psoriasis

6) Tomatoes: BAD 👎 Some people with psoriasis find tomatoes aggravate their skin condition. There's little scientific evidence to support this, but if you notice a link between these tomatoes and worsening of psoriasis symptoms, cut them out of your diet. #psoriasis

5) Avocados: GOOD 👍 There are such things as "good fats." These include the polyunsaturated fats (nuts, avocados) and monounsaturated fats (flaxseed, certain fish). The fat in avocados has Omega-3s, which help moisturize the skin and prevent dryness and flakiness. #psoriasis

4) Process Sugars: BAD 👎 Processed sugar is not healthy in general and also has been known to have negative effects for psoriasis warriors. Excess sugar is also a major contributor to weight gain and as we know, unhealthy weight levels can aggravate your psoriasis. #psoriasis

3) Blueberries: GOOD 👍 Blueberries have anti-inflammatory properties and lots of vitamin C, manganese (good for bone health), quercetin and fiber. Quercetin, a plant-based flavonoid, is a powerful antioxidant and antihistamine, which helps reduce inflammation. #psoriasis

2) Nightshade Plants: BAD 👎 Many psoriasis warriors have increased flare ups from this group of plants, which include peppers, white potatoes, eggplant, and tomatoes. These vegetables contain solanine, a chemical that has been known to trigger pain in some people. #psoriasis

1) Fatty Fish: GOOD 👍 Omega-3 fatty acids are abundant in salmon, mackerel, sardines, and albacore tuna and other fatty fish. Fish oils help reduce inflammation and improve the immune system. #psoriasis
