All the mistakes and gripes I've pointed out with how Konami has handled Bomberman over the years are valid but what's insane is that in spite of the questionable quality/content of the new games, what actually failed them is the pricing, even contemporaries know better, why $50?

Older Bomberman games had really cool and oddball character designs that were varied and distinct but not quite out of place among each other, Puzzle Bobble, Magical Drop, Puyo Puyo type energy. The SBR series essentially made everyone Bomberman and it feels like we lost out imo.

I have no idea why Bomberman games stopped utilizing cel shaded after Jetters (GCN) It's been gorgeous every time and Online for Dreamcast still looks so good 22 years later, there is so much character here!

Talking with @ShaolinTurtle about TMNT 2003 for the PS2 and GameCube when he referred to the game as "a kid friendly MK Shaolin Monks" and I don't think I've seen such a great comparison in a while. It is such fun game with so many mechanics to dive into. Criminally underrated.

Inside the files for Bomberman Act:Zero are sprites from Net de Bomberman, a Japan-exclusive PS2 instalment that was online-only, and is this close to lost media -- its disc has no gameplay assets! To find these unused in an Xbox 360 game is pretty wild to say the least.
