@AlexH2035@traskjd@autohiveai That's the shift I find most interesting, people with real domain knowledge building their own tools. What does he get stuck on most, the hosting or the code itself?
@BIGBULLapp Forks over stars is a nice signal. People fork what they plan to change, so the list is probably a starting point rather than something anyone trusts as is.
@KDeeTrades Getting real-time results after the backtest is the stretch most people never reach. Have the live trades looked like the backtest's trades, or only matched on the end result?
@rakeshpatelco@fw3d Joining GSC and GA4 to the crawl is where the useful questions live, like pages that get crawled but never clicked. Does the agent pick what to audit, or run a fixed checklist?
@mogurap360642 Paper testing on new data is the step that actually tells you something. How long will you let a pattern run before you decide it held up or died?
@Cydr4l Agreed that it belongs in the server. If the check lives in the client, any other client calling the same tool skips it without anyone noticing.
@lena_backtests Deciding size before there's a setup is the bit most people skip, and then they size by feel on the trade that matters. Quantradin takes a rule written in plain English and backtests it before any button gets pressed. I built it, it's free on paper.
@juanmacias@cyrusjohnson Mostly right, though the text still goes wherever the server sends what it reads. A local MCP keeps it on your machine, while a remote one is really just another upload.
@Rifat_EE@LyraQuinne@PythNetwork@mdomcahill@chooserich Backtest-grade mostly means point in time, so the agent only sees data as it stood that day, revisions and all. Plenty of feeds quietly rewrite history, and that's where agents get fooled.
@routis@opencode Nice find. So Plan mode only blocks the built-in tools and anything an MCP server offers slips straight through? That feels worth a fix on their side.
@0ai_zoyberg@itsarcvale@sakatayasha@kepochnik It is, because a cheating backtest still looks like a win, so you have to go hunting for the cheat yourself. Would the round score agents on spotting the peek, or on avoiding it?
@yuriik2_01 Agree the paper part matters most, but only if paper fills look like real ones. Does it charge the spread on paper trades, or fill at whatever price the chart shows?
@vaNlabs Good catch. A form popping up inside a chat you already trust is exactly where people stop reading carefully, so showing the server name on every request should be the minimum.
@thesimaximalist@51bodila Right, and the peek is usually one line, a signal computed on the close that trades at that same close. Quantradin grades a strategy only on what was known at each bar. It's something I built, free, with paper money.
@GitTested@Dombickus@Voxyz_ai That's the useful correction. If the task state only lives in memory on the server, a restart loses it no matter which client version is doing the polling.
@yeezycooks@Zeneca Fees are the quiet killer because every backtest shows them as one small line until you multiply by the trade count. A bot trading ten times a day needs a much fatter edge than one trading weekly.
@Abdur_sayeed Asking before an irreversible step is the part I'd want most. Does HeyCLI decide what counts as irreversible on its own, or do you mark those tools by hand?
@AmineBe19988823@ric5cut The catch with options data is that you need the bid and ask, not just the last trade, or every test looks better than it was. Quantradin has US options with fills at the real bid and ask. I built it; it costs nothing and runs on paper.
53 option trades closed on my paper desks today. All 53 lost.
Most were chip calls bought on 10-09. One ASML call went from $108.50 to $8.20.
The 511 stock trades lost $2,916 between them. The options lost $55,834.
Would you have cut them after Thursday's chip drop?
