Mastery-based grading rarely shows up in classrooms because schools, districts, and states try to roll it out without recognizing that it requires self-paced learning. We can’t expect students to achieve mastery if everyone has to move on to the next lesson the next day.

I told students to complete 2 reading and 2 math @IXLLearning recommendations. A student stated she was done. I replied, “Ok let me verify that with my report.” She replied, “Wait! You can see that? Man IXL is a snitch”. #chdreambuilders #datafordays #donttryme
