Norway spends about $30,000 per child on early childhood care. Finland spends $23,000. Germany, $18,000. The U.S. spends $500 per child. In other words, 1/60th of what Norway spends on its toddlers. How do we expect to build a better future if we refuse to invest in our kids?
@RBReich As a taxpayer it’s not my responsibility to “invest” in other people’s children. High taxes stifle those countries’ economies just to pay for those handouts.
@RBReich It’s not about spending on their kids? It’s about spending on those other kids! You know the black and brown ones the welfare people who don’t work, the Good Christian folks don’t want to help any of THOSE PEOPLE.
@RBReich Uh maybe do some quick math and factor in that whole population thing
@RBReich Everytime I travel abroad to countries like Norway, I'm reminded that the basic human necessities that we are fighting for here isn't even a conversation there.
@RBReich Im Norwegian. The tax rates we pay equate to over 50% of your paycheck. Doesn’t matter if you work in fast food or if you are a doctor. Now add taxes charged on everything you buy. They did a study that found the average Norwegian spends over 60% of each paycheck in taxes.
