The richest 10% of Americans own 89% of stocks. The bottom 90% own 11% of stocks. Repeat after me: The stock market is not the economy.
@RBReich Nothing to stop less wealthy people investing in the stock market as well. With some good research, patience, and decent dividend yields, they could do very well. Now more than ever, the stock market is open to all people.
@RBReich I do not begrudge people becoming wealthy, I dislike that they don’t pay their far share of taxes like we do!
@RBReich The richest 10% also employs a good part of the other 90%. If you have a job you generally need to thanks someone with the capital and willingness to take a risk.
@RBReich The stock market was never created for the working class or even lower upper class to invest in - only extremely wealthy individuals & institutions. Silly & dangerous for the common man to invest in it. What do you think will happen when the baby boomers die & corps can’t sell…
@RBReich Can you say printing infinity money + cantillon effect????
@RBReich Tax capital gains to tax the rich. Abolish the income tax to get workers working again. The income tax does not affect the rich. It just hurts workers.
@RBReich So you would be willing to give up your wealth and stocks, NIMBY?
@RBReich No it's not. It's a casino for the rich, subsidized by the poor. End the Fed
