March 2020: US billionaires worth a combined $2.9 trillion March 2024: US billionaires worth a combined $5.5 trillion That’s an 88% increase in billionaire wealth since the pandemic hit. Wealth tax. Now.
@RBReich Now include US government debt to see the big picture.
@RBReich Robert, the lockdowns you so readily cheerleaded for increased those Billionaires wealth. Small businesses were closed, and we were forced to shop at those corporations. This is your doing. But we all know you already know that.
@RBReich Don't stop with the billionaires, Bubby. Hit the millionaires too! I'm barely a thousandaire and sometime after paying bills, I'm a hundredaire. You can afford a big chunk of your huge wealth - especially since you believe the government can never spend enough money.
@RBReich Now do the National Debt... Reduce. Spending. Now.
@RBReich This guy talks about the wealthy elite like he's some blue collar guy, which is strange because he is an elitist left-wing zealout who has massive wealth.
@RBReich Democrats should have thought of that before locking the nation down and increasing their wealth. Never accept accountability for their own actions. Covid lock downs redistributed more wealth to the 1% than any government act previously. Accept responsibility.
A "wealth tax" is nothing more than punishment for having dared to acquire wealth. Once we conclude it is indeed punishment, then we have to face the fact it is cruel and unusual punishment to inflict same purporting to be a bona fide "tax." Tax is a euphemism for theft. Indeed, it is not a tax when the sole purpose is to redistribute wealth from the haves to the have-nots. It is an unlawful discriminatory arbitrary and capricious seizure of citizens' private property in violation of the 5th and 14th Amendments and such #LiberalFascism must not ever be allowed to stand in America. We do not gang up on our fellow Americans because they are from a different class just because they are a minority whom we can out vote. That is abuse of our American sense of Liberty, values, and way of life. #NoWealthTax
@RBReich I say we let it roll. They're doing a pretty good job of making the money grow so let's let them invest it. Besides, it's not ours.
