@jesse_hopp Interesting that Qatar aims to grow their hydrocarbon industry while also trying to diversify from oil and NG. Could create a conflict of interest in the future.

As the economic blockade seems to be hitting Qatar Airlines the worst, the company seems to be acquiring to keep up with growth. reut.rs/345CsyO

@Derek_Glasgow18 I think that even though their relationship is fragmented, both countries are looking to make amends in the next few months.

@466Sage As we're learning in class, human capital is a hard attribute to change, yet Qatar is taking steps in the right direction!

As the boycott of Qatar seems to be coming to a halt, two major gulf powers and economies seem to be resuming alliances. This could hopefully increase trade and cooperation. news.yahoo.com/saudi-king-inv… via @Yahoo

@jesse_hopp One thing that I'm keeping an eye on is to see if any trade deals or negotiations come out of this meeting. If so, it could significantly help both economies.

@Derek_Glasgow18 @TheNationalUAE With Qatar just emerging from ongoing trouble and distrust from member nations, one must ask why Qatar wouldn't want to corporate with allied countries. This will hurt them in the long run.

@466Sage I agree Sage! The more good publicity the country gets, the more trust investors have in the country itself. Maybe this will prove rewarding down the road.

With the end of the boycott and crisis between Qatar and the rest of the Gulf states, the world should be looking at how this will positively affect Qatar's economy. #Econ466 #Qatar middleeastmonitor.com/20191116-emine… via @MiddleEastMnt

@GW_Qatar Sad that the countries have to argue. From Qatar's perspective, this probably isn't the best idea since they're already facing boycotts

@jesse_hopp This should be good for both parties. More trade is more specialization and greater prosperity!

Many of the nations who have imposed economic embargoes on Qatar for their alleged funding of terrorism have indicated their intent to enter the World Cup. ft.com/content/effd89… via @financialtimes

@GW_Qatar This looks like a strategy for Qatar airways to diversity away from the Gulf, since other Gulf states are boycotting their airline. This could prove as a good play.

@jesse_hopp I feel as though this is critical for the economy. If the quality of data collected is improved, the quality of economics statistics put out to the public increases as well, leading to a trust in the country.

@Derek_Glasgow18 I agree Derek. As the airline is already significantly impacted by the economic blockade, this should prove as a beneficial strategy to the airline.

@466Sage Good to see Qatar doing some international charity work. Maybe their play here is to just change the international stigma laid upon the country?

As the government of Qatar seeks to diversify away from their own natural resources, their sovereign wealth fund seems to be investing into the US #Econ466SDSU #Qatar bloomberg.com/news/articles/… via @markets

@GW_Qatar I admire what Qatar is trying to do here, but it seems like a last ditch effort to try and assist its economy and appeal to the rest of the world. The fact that they're not allowing the blockade countries to participate is petty as well.

@jesse_hopp This should really help the Qatari economy in the long run. Investing in human capital is one of the best things a country can do for the future of its economy.

@Derek_Glasgow18 @myfairobserver This blockade has been going on for sometime now, it should be interesting to see what will happen in the future and how this blockade really affects the Qatari economy.
