Federal work isn't slow money. Bad invoices are. Prompt Payment Act: a proper invoice gets paid in 30 days, or the government owes you interest. The word that matters is proper. Wrong contract number. Missing receiving report. Not in WAWF. That's what sits. Not the check.

Set-asides aren't charity. They're math the contracting officer has to do. The rule of two: if they expect two or more capable small businesses to bid at a fair price, the work gets set aside. Every qualified shop that never registers makes that math harder. You're not just missing bids. You're keeping them open to the big guys.

Past performance is the excuse I hear most. "Never done federal work, so I can't win it." Your commercial jobs count. A roof is a roof. Under FAR 15.305, no record means a neutral rating. Not a bad one. What's stopping you isn't your resume. It's that you haven't bid.

Most established trades don't lose federal work on skill. They lose it on paperwork they never finished. SAM Active. No capability statement. Wrong NAICS. Zero bids submitted. The money was sitting on SAM.gov the whole time.

🚨 Did you know the government posts 30,000 contracts every single day? That’s billions already budgeted and waiting to be claimed. We recently landed a $16.6 MILLION roofing contract with the U.S. Army. 💰 And guess what? You don’t have to be a giant to get in on the action.
