Blood test predicts MS in some ppl years before first symptoms, @UCSF scientists say. In 1/10 cases of MS, researchers found the body produces a 'distinctive' set of antibodies against its own proteins long before symptoms emerge. Study in Nature Medicine ucsf.edu/news/2024/04/4…
@RachelHorne19 @UCSF I'm skeptical, but I'll read the full publication at some point.
@RachelHorne19 @UCSF When I was diagnosed in 1986, I remember my (late) father saying if they can find the cause, then they can find a cure. He wasn't a doctor, just a hopeful father. Predicting MS is a start; I'll keep praying for the rest. Thanks for posting, @RachelHorne19 #MultipleSclerosis
@RachelHorne19 @UCSF Hi Rachel it is amazing how much were finding out about Ms thank you 🎊🎊🎊
@RachelHorne19 @UCSF Interesting. I wonder if neurologists would start treatment if blood test were positive, to halt development??? I doubt it.
