15 days since I had a drink, which is the longest I've gone in years. I nearly threw in the towel on Thursday as a result of stress and anxiety. My brain is used to getting alcohol to make a bad time better but at least I kept it together. #RecoveryPosse

One week sober. This time last week I was in a horrible place, and I took my family and friends there with me. I'm not going back there. I really appreciate all the messages of support and wisdom this week from the #RecoveryPosse

@Rogue_Rooster It sounds like you are infinitely better off without them people and with your new friends. To be honest I expect to have fewer friends in the short term but needs must.

Day 5. Most social occasions in my adult life to now have involved alcohol, whether that be seeing friends, family occasions, work gatherings, meeting women. I'm a bit worried about what people will say and think when I tell them I am not drinking anymore. #RecoveryPosse

@willgordontx Good point. I think some of the "friendships" I've made while drinking haven't been good for me at all. I will find it hard but they need to go

Day 4. Never again do I want to have a few pints "for the match" and end up walking around town by myself like a pissed madman the following morning. The enjoyment from drinking is not worth risking the hardship and strife that comes with that kind of insanity. #RecoveryPosse

@willgordontx Yes, on one level I know I'm fooling myself but I ignore the rational voice that know where it's going to end up. And as everything revolves around drink here, there's always the next excuse

@Rogue_Rooster Mostly when I'm drinking I'm concerned about running out of it, and having to face reality again. Maybe it's more the temporary relief of escape than enjoyment. How did you answer the question?
