DEVASTATED. We've just heard news that bulldozers have moved in to the Lotus Creek wind farm site owned by @Vestas , Central Qld. Over 100 koalas were seen here, some with joeys on their back. This is a thriving population. We are weeping. This is not a 'just' transition! @QLDConservation @WWF_Australia @Wilderness_Aus @AusConservation @QldGreens
@RainforestsAus @rix_trevor @Vestas Greenwashing
@RainforestsAus @slsandpet @Vestas Maybe you would prefer a nice coal mine?
@RainforestsAus @Vestas A reminder that CSIRO scientists identified the population of koalas on the Clarke-Connors Range as possibly of national importance! (Scientists’ typical cautious words). Where’s the outcry from ACF, QCC, Wilderness Society? National TRAGEDY @talkingkoala #auspol
@RainforestsAus @Vestas energy profiles r about a 1/3 to “stationary” energy = industry & 2/3s to electricity, but industry uses half that & its high industrial emissions, we r rapidly expanding a renewables grid to feed high emitting industry, no ones at the wheel, no one is talking about it #auspol
@RainforestsAus @Vestas Windfarms should not be considered until there’s solar on every rooftop, carpark etc. with battery/EV backup! And a proper national grid with AI management! Then and only then see how many windfarms are actually required!
@RainforestsAus @Vestas We had to destroy the environment to save it.
@RainforestsAus @Vestas This is criminal, and this isn’t an isolated situation, it’s being repeated over and over in numerous rural areas around the country, away from public scrutiny. People in cities are too busy selling their souls to have the time or energy to even find out what’s happening
