Between car centric sprawl, lack of housing options from zoning, land transfer taxes, rent control, and lack of investment in transportation, we've designed a society around reducing short and long term travel. 1/4
Traveling is an inherent part of being human. While our ancestors were nomads, we now travel in totally different ways, for a thousand reasons. But it's still fundamental to the human experience, and we should make it as easy as possible for people. 2/4
Think about how much feeling there is, moving to a new city or school or job, visiting family for pleasure or an emergency, leaving a partner, moving to a larger house to start a family, getting your first place, moving in with someone, even travelling for work or a vacation. 3/4
These are huge and important parts of the human experience. We should enable people to do them as freely and painlessly as possible. 4/4
