@japan_nobunaga I have to wonder who he was. There is a cozy relationship between the USPS and the armed forces. Lots of military retirees delivering letters.

Grok corrected me on the ownership. But I HAVE seen, and purchased. "bulk bags" of this exact cereal, in the resealable bag. It was, not larger than the largest box that I could get. Apparently I was wrong, and POST owns Malt-o-Meal. So, I guess I can get Malt-o-Meal Grape Nuts, now.

@AutismCapital It's... Okay, in a box? Yes. By itself? No. Malt-o-meal owns, (last I knew), General Mills, and their bulk bags have been zip-lock style for awhile, now. Including Honey Nut Cheerios. Incidentally, so was the last bag of pet food I purchased.

I agree. A couple points. Some of those "lifelong democrats" really are...locally. Places like Oklahoma, and I suspect Texas, had democrats at home, Republicans nationally. This was the trend. So, some of those "lifelong democrats" probably DID vote Republican, down-ticket, on the national ballots, but voted for the Blue-Dog Democrats at home. They're not WRONG, but the labels they chose to show are misleading in this context. Ask them who they voted for govener. I want two, competitive parties. I don't care how we get there. I was thinking if the democrats finished imploding, and the Republicans divided like a bacterium, that'd be good enough. Because, we DO need choice. Real choice, not bad and worse. I think the Republicans are choosing to drag their feet because INaction is easier to sell to EVERYONE than an action that only HALF their constituents like. They didn't vote for A, but least they didn't vote for B.

@Vltra_MK @elonmusk @Rothmus We don't need DIFFERENT government. We need LESS government. Different government would be no better, and wouldn't start with the same fetters we gave ours when we stood it up almost two centuries ago.

@pureMetatron Never mind. Grok set me straight. Plague. (I was thinking it might be the fungus someone recently suggested might be contributory to peanut allergies.)

@ShamashAran I was just thinking a few days ago, James Bond would be Slytherin. Nothing inherently wrong with Slytherin, except that it got taken over by the dark one. And, snakes are dark symbols in western thought, so for the first books, a simplistic "evil house" was easy to sell.

@tanpukunokami There's this old song about disagreements that goes "You say To-MAY-to, I say To-Mah-to, You say Po-Tay-to, I say Po-Tah-to, To-May-to, To-Mah-to, Po-Tay-to, Po-Tah-to, Let's call the whole thing off."

A "K-Shaped Recovery" is when SOME of an economy bounces back strongly, but other parts are left behind. So, some people report that all is well, but others look at their financial situation, and know, from personal experience, that all is not well. You already mentioned the "Gold Coast". If the scores of those few districts are carrying the whole state, your local situation can still look quite pessimistic, even as state-level reports are rosy. Someone from THOSE areas, or looking at the aggregate, would see no problem.

@jtjbaugh @ShamashAran We don't? I think our Ag kids took home trophies for Shooter Sports this last season. Now, they're biding their time to take bucks.
