In 4th century AD a lot of Goths begged Romans to take them in as refugees to escape the Huns. The emperor agreed to let them in, give them food and land. But Goths swarmed in such large numbers that Rome lost control of the situation. These Goths then rebelled, formed their own army within Rome and killed Emperor Valens who let them in the first place. After few decades in 410 AD these same "refugees" sacked Rome. The last time Rome was sacked was in 390 BC, almost a millenium ago. I think there is a lesson here for Europe.

In 2001 George W Bush proposed a partial privatization plan for Social Security so you could put 10% of your SS contribution into the markets. People rejected this. We can now see that if it had passed, the 10% that went into the markets would have outperformed the 90% the government managed, the program would be solvent, and the average SS recipient would be receiving 2X what they currently receive. The worst bet you’ll ever make is betting on government.

Rooting for Hollywood to die is loserthink. The antidote for the woke fever dream that ruined movies for the last few years isn’t to just abandon and destroy film culture entirely…the answer is breaking the fever. Obsession, Project Hail Mary, Top Gun: Maverick…there have been some bangers emerging from the ashes that actually are winning big at the box office again. They don’t have an agenda, and are entertaining as hell. Their insane box office returns should remind all of us that not only is Hollywood still a highly valuable industry, but deep down, we ALL still want to go to the movies. We just want it to be like the good old days in the 90s when movies were just movies, not a UC Santa Cruz lecture. Culture is America’s #1 global export, and Hollywood is the vanguard for popular culture. Period. Not only is it worth saving, it’s necessary. Not just for California, but for the entire country. We cannot root for California to fail…the success of our country relies on a strong, prosperous, and sane California. We need to nurture this place the way we’d nurture a family member going through a drug crisis. Stern, stable leadership, a full intervention to purge the addiction (to wokeness), and a committed effort to rehabilitate her. I see people on the right saying "screw Hollywood" like they're scorned ex-girlfriends. And I see people on the left saying "screw the film tax credit" simply because it involves the President. All of you need to grow the fuck up. We are saving America, and that includes California. And California...that includes the President. Get on board or get out, losers.

Isn’t it weird how unsubsidized consumer goods like TVs, appliances, clothes, all get cheaper and cheaper…while anything government puts its hands on, healthcare, housing, food, tuition, cars, utilities…just gets more and more unaffordable? Oh well. Probably nothing.

This interview was about the rise of communism on the Left, and I was asked by Jesse Watters why so many young people are buying the false promise of “free stuff” being sold by communist politicians. My answer: a combination of laziness, yes, and the liberal indoctrination that has been taking place in our education system for far too long. There are far-left educators pumping students’ heads with garbage, convincing them that hard work and sacrifice won’t pay off down the road because they want them totally reliant on the government instead. Good parenting matters more than anything, but a solid, civics-based education is also vitally important. I care enough about our country to tell uncomfortable truths. And it’s an undeniable fact that a growing number of young people in our country are falling for the lies of socialism and communism, sold to them by anti-American politicians who’ve never built anything, offer no real solutions, and are intent on tearing down everything that makes this country great. At the same time, it’s also true that many Gen Z Americans are hardworking, entrepreneurial, and deeply patriotic, and it’s vital we protect the American Dream for them. That’s why I am honored to work for President Trump and speak on behalf of an administration that is implementing the right policies to do this: lower taxes, less regulation, stopping Wall Street from purchasing single-family homes, Trump Accounts, and the deportation of illegal aliens who are taking our housing and jobs. To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
