Since there seems to be growing confusion on this: I have nothing to do with anything that FB is up to involving the Metaverse, other than the obvious fact that they're using a term I coined in Snow Crash. There has been zero communication between me and FB & no biz relationship.

Why an NFT is more than #cryptoart or a glorified JPG: when you tokenize any digital asset you are endowing it with the genetic code it needs to attract, hold and distribute value. It applies to any act of (digital) creation, as you can also twin (digitize)analog one. #crypto

NFTs continue to create new forms of passive income for creators but the current solutions have as many problems as benefits: little quality verification, no real IP protection and (with few exceptions) no community governance.
