This graphic is mind blowing . I knew the market was bad (generally speaking) for SWEs and demand for Al/ML was high, but I did not imagine the difference was this high. Right now there's a massive gold rush for companies to figure out how to invest and implement AI solutions

First impressions matter during interviews. Please don't show up in a hoodie when you're about to meet with the hiring manager, even if it's over zoom. This isn't the ZIRP era anymore Are some managers more lax on "presentation" and first impressions? Sure But not everyone is

The JOLTS report is extremely misleading. At least in tech, the job market is still struggling right now. While it's a better market than 2023, it's still rough out there. It's slowly recovering from where I sit, but I don't think we get back to "normal" until fed starts cuts

Interesting fact of the day: Despite all the layoffs and negative sentiment in the job market, the IT unemployment rate is still relatively low. The sentiment is low, sure, but in the long term I think tech is still the place to be.

Be careful what you wish for. The argument for remote workers is that it can be done from anywhere. If that's the case, and there's people in cheaper labor markets that can do your job, you're at a much higher risk to be outsourced.
