@JohtoLenni Around 10 years. I started hunting or got interested in shinies around 2012 or so, maybe a bit earlier but didn't really put in much if any effort to hunt until I acually committed to a hunt with Bulbasaur being my first hunted shiny.

All my 150 gen 3 shinies separated in their respective box by caught order. Total of 1,034,785 encounters, average of around 7,039 encounters per shiny.

@captain_eevee Wow that's pretty impressive you were able to discern all that. So far only Charmander and Torchic have been female from the starters I have, unfortunately I ended up wiping the Torchic save for my RS DTQs.

Current main goal outside of completing my DTQs is to 100% all my trainer cards. Getting the "Enter hall of fame level 4" sticker and "Jump 200 times in a row in Pokémon Jump and get 200 Berries in Dodrio Berry Picking" star are probably the two most annoying and time consuming.

@DonutDreamer0 Not necessarily, I just hunt what I want and then sometimes if it's part of a "set" of Pokemon or a counterpart then I complete the set, e.g. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, legends, game corner shinies, etc.
