One common thing I’ve noticed with many projects is that they already have a winner before they even announce a contest. All you’re doing is giving them free visibility. I see these contests every day on the timeline, using similar marketing strategies. These strategies have even led me to start examining the projects’ tech. Just so you know, I’m here for the tech, not just the money! From my personal analysis, whenever a marketing strategy is built heavily around greed, there are often significant red flags in the project’s tech as well. And it’s even worse when the greed is extreme. Your favorite marketers on the timeline are also the ones designing these strategies for the projects. These marketers already have their winners before the contest even begins. To smaller creators: You are just a pawn in their chess puzzle they use to manufacture “engagement and impressions” for the project. Or they give you a $5 giveaway task and call it an opportunity, while you’re actually giving the project free visibility. Before you jump on anything called opportunity ask yourself critically Do I actually have a chance of winning ? TBH, THIS NICHE IS BIGGER THAN ME!
