The establishment went into crisis mode, trying to figure out what to do next. Their solution? They cancelled the entire election, barred him from running again, created what looks like bogus charges against him, and jailed him. This is in ROMANIA, a member of the EU that considers itself a democracy To give you an idea of who Călin is, the first interview we did together was in his small living room, which is connected to his kitchen. No fancy palace, no security, just a humble family home with his wife and 2 young kids. The second time I interviewed Călin was remotely when he was first arrested. He warned me back then that the establishment will keep going after him until he’s in jail, and he was right.
