🧵1/3: I supported the plans Speaker Johnson announced in conference to allow the House to vote on the various aid packages separately. But his since-announced intent to merge them together before sending them to the Senate is wrong.
🧵2/3: Israel funding should not be held hostage by Ukraine funding. The American people deserve to know where their senators stand on each funding component.
🧵3/3: MIRV—the process used to merge the bills—is about as ridiculous as ranked choice voting. The least popular option is the one that wins.
@RepAndyBiggsAZ Why are you "funding" Israel? What is "Israel funding?" Is Israel an American federal agency? If we don't "fund Israel," will the government shut down? Make it make sense.
@RepAndyBiggsAZ I really don't know why we send either country money
@RepAndyBiggsAZ Stop funding other nations. Especially their wars! We have just been outed as funding NGO’s that are trafficking Guatemalan children that are being raped. Deal with our crimes against humanity now!
@RepAndyBiggsAZ Exactly! They are 2 separate funding issues. One is a nato member we vow to support in return we would have their support , one is not. Huge difference
@RepAndyBiggsAZ American people do not want to fund either Ukraine nor Israel.
@RepAndyBiggsAZ Wy does Israel need money? Are they planning to start WW3?
@RepAndyBiggsAZ Don't send money to anyone... close our border, balance the budget, pay off the debt, reduce our taxes. Start a go fund me page for Israel... give an your money to them.. sign up to fight and die in their military. We are Americans. So all the nonsense or quit.
