Females during choice trials and subjects in breeding condition took more time to make a decision than males and non-breeding subjects, respectively. Breeding females may trade speed for increased accuracy, thus facilitating successful brood parasitism.

@ReuvenDukas They are all diurnal. We don't really know about each species visual acuity. But most lizards rely strongly on scent. That is why we used a mesh cylinder. That way, lizards were able to use both or rely more on one than the other. In our case it does not matter what they used.
6. Species differences in caching behaviour can be explained by sociality. Also, PJs may be better at adjusting their behaviour based on social context, as they change their behaviour when observed by individual from a different species. #AnimBehav2021
