In America, young people are economically...doing fine. Higher incomes than previous generations, income growing faster than any other group, low unemployment. How much have our brains been rotted from listening to depressed people on X? This place is a zoo of human misery.
@RichardHanania Need to see a chart with comparisons to costs of housing, broken out by education or industry. I suspect tech workers are lifting this average while blue collar workers are getting squeezed.
@RichardHanania I think I agree, but this graph doesn’t say “adjusted for inflation” anywhere which would be an important metric.
@RichardHanania I don't get these vibes from Twitter. I guess it depends who you follow. I don't regularly use it but when I check in on Reddit, there is a lot more doomerism.
@RichardHanania @psychosort Real life isn’t found on a graph. People are working harder for less.
@RichardHanania In dollars sure, but how much is a dollar worth, compared to previous generations? FAR FAR LESS. The VALUE of the dollar is FAR LESS than it was, even just 20 years ago.
@RichardHanania Show us those same charts, but in gold, instead of in dollars.
@RichardHanania Ok but they should use real wages not nominal
