@RoamResearch I really like the new iOS app with the beta mode turned on. It's so quick and the UX around opening the blocks is so so so good and easy. Looking forward to the write mode on the mobile beta version. Thanks for the lovely update <3

I am completely addicted to @RoamResearch I've been using it for a few weeks and its changed the way I take notes. Primarily being able to just type and not worry about organizing means I take a lot more notes. The TODO system is absolutely brilliant.
@RyanNagy @RoamResearch I have a graph where I use the DNPs close to 100% of the time. But it's more of a personal journal, captain's log, etc. In my main graph, I use DNPs mostly for fleeting notes and Matter imports. Probably 90% of my writing happens on source pages or on ~40 category pages.
@CalebFiggers @RyanNagy @RoamResearch This is the workflow that I switched to as well. But then your category pages are blank. I wish there was some better way to handle that, some kind of summary of all the backlinks, you know?
@tombielecki @RyanNagy @RoamResearch Roam does have backend API access now, so such a thing could probably be done as a Roam Depot extension Would require a dev more skilled and better motivated than myself to pull it off though 😅
@RyanNagy @RoamResearch I use lots of category pages, but I don't write anything ON the category page. That page is always just a reference in a top-level block on the Daily Notes page. Whatever I would put on that category page goes indented under that block on the DNP. +90% of my graph is on a DNP.
@RyanNagy @RoamBrain @RoamResearch The daily note is a repository for all thoughts of the day. Mostly not fully formed. Category pages are for fully formed thoughts/processes/etc. and then all the initial thoughts can still be found as references
@RyanNagy @RoamBrain @RoamResearch I've used the same system for 3 years now. I put information I primarily associate with chronological order on DNPs; it tends to be more ephemeral, less permanent/organized. More structured/permanent info goes on non-DNP.. My Roam is a hybrid between personal wiki and a journal.
@rjnestor, a big thank you!!! I just subscribed to your newsletter and, looking over your published 'Weekend Upgrade 32: Handwritten notes, saved from the void', realised that I could dictate the piles of old handwritten notes into Roam research via the Roam iPhone app rather.😍

Update for my Magic Tags plugin for @RoamResearch incoming. Added all items from the wish list, fixed inverting black and white, and added detection for Roam Studio mode switches. It is currently under review and should be released soon. Need an icon? github.com/rcvd/magic-tag…
It is now also possible to give more than one tag the same icon by just separating the tag names with a semicolon in the settings.
