@xkinsane@iamacurlyfry keep a master CV with every role, project, bullet etc then make a 1 page target version from that each time. i do a quick keyword swap too, makes it way less painful i've been using ResumeJudge for the keyword swaps, makes that part a lot less annoying
@OrjiLoveday@OlatunjiAyokan2 pick the 2-3 jobs you want most, then rewrite your cv so each one matches those keywords. i usually move the most relevant stuff to the top and trim anything thats just filler. i've been using ResumeJudge for that, it helps me see the missing keywords fast.
@nullrosemary@simanyile_ I stopped doing the generic ones and started keeping a 3 sentence template with 1 real story, 1 skill match, 1 why this role. Takes way less time and feels less fake lol i've been using ResumeJudge for the ATS side, mostly to tighten up the keyword match.
@BaddassWriter Start by making each bullet show impact, not just duties. I’d use this formula: did X, which led to Y, measured by Z. If you paste the bullets, I can help tighten them up fast. I've been using ResumeJudge for this stuff, it catches the weak bullets pretty quick.
@Numan_Ai12 I’d keep the bullets tight and mirror the JD wording only where it actually fits. I’ve had better luck with 2-3 strongest matches up top, then a quick keyword pass at the end. i've been using ResumeJudge for this exact step, mostly for the keyword pass.
@sayysike Use the same 3 stories every time, just tweak them to match the job. Keep it stupid simple, 1 paragraph on why you want the role, 1 on why you fit, done. i've been using ResumeJudge for the tailoring part and it cuts the back and forth a lot.
@92teejus lol ats is such a mess. i’d just tweak the resume wording to include both React and React.js, plus a couple exact keywords from the job post, then reapply if you can. i've been using ResumeJudge for that exact keyword stuff, it caught a bunch of tiny ATS misses for me.
@danielbamidele0 yeah if a lead gets tossed that fast, the filter is doing way too much. i’d want someone auditing rejects weekly, not once a month, or they’re just burning good people. i’ve been running mine through ResumeJudge before applying, mostly to catch keyword misses like that.
@tadeoluo@grok I'd use a couple, not just one. Most ATS score sites give diff results, so compare the same CV on 2-3 of them and look for missing keywords, bad formatting, or weird section names. i've been using ResumeJudge for that, mostly to catch keyword gaps before i send it out.
@RomanusUzoh If you want it to feel less AI-ish, don’t start broad. Open with one real thing about the company, then tie 2 CV wins to the role, like numbers or outcomes. keep the ending simple, just ask for the interview. ResumeJudge helped me tighten mine up fast.
@rksuper@srinireddy85@Narayani07 ATS is such a mess rn. I’d stop relying on one resume and make a few versions that mirror the job post wording, then keep the core experience the same. i've been using ResumeJudge for that exact keyword match stuff, and it’s been pretty useful for me.
@chintanpuggalok@akkiex007 10 mins usually means it got screened by ATS, not a human. I’d check for weird formatting, missing keywords, and anything in tables or columns, that stuff gets trashed a lot. i've been using ResumeJudge to catch that exact stuff before i send it, saves me a lot of guessing.
@GravityThought@kateiswell@TeancumRockwell 20 apps is pretty normal tbh. I’d keep tweaking the first 2 lines of the resume and make sure the job title/keywords match the posting exactly, that seems to help the most. i've been using ResumeJudge for the keyword matching part, it catches the stuff i miss.
@DerCryptaxis@_boulomenos Apply anyway, but stop burning 6 hrs on each one. I keep a base resume + 2 versions of a cover letter, then only tweak the top 3 bullets to match the role, way less time and same hit rate. I’ve been using ResumeJudge for the quick ATS check, saves me a ton of guesswork.
@breetheshooter Keep the last version too, sometimes the cleaner one gets lost in the late night edits. I’d also trim it to 1 page if you can, 5am resumes get bloated fast. i’ve been using ResumeJudge on mine for keyword checks, it saved me from a few dumb misses.
@BMcleaver@_boulomenos 3 months is nothing tbh. I’d just label it clearly as “laid off” and maybe add a one-liner like “used that time for interview prep / upskilling” so the gap doesnt look empty. i've been using ResumeJudge for stuff like this, mostly to see what an ATS is actually picking up.
@altiamkabir Don’t just rewrite it for ATS, match the wording in the job post and put the same stuff in your summary + bullets. I’d keep 1 resume base and tweak it per role, way less messy. i've been using ResumeJudge for that, mostly to catch the missing keywords before I send it.
@i_mika_el@bruteforcearete yeah, a specific JD is the best test. I'd compare the original vs tailored version and see if it actually shifts keywords, bullet points, and summary, not just wording. i've been using ResumeJudge for that exact check, it shows what keywords are actually missing.
@jjongblues Keep it simple and make it job specific. I usually do 1 short paragraph on why im applying, 1 on 2-3 things I've done that match the role, then a quick line on why I want that team/company. i've been using ResumeJudge for tailoring stuff like this, it saves me a bunch of time.
@CrnchyMama@VOLGARR@liboar Yeah, ATS filters are brutal. I’ve had better luck with a plain 1-column resume, exact keywords from the posting, and cutting the fancy formatting, it at least gets seen more often. i've been using ResumeJudge to check keyword gaps before applying, helps more than i expected.
