For home learning last week, children chose a vegetable to draw and describe using adjectives. They then challenged themselves to write a sentence. Impressive! This will support our innovated writing this week.

Science club week 4! Exploring pepper and watching what happens when we add soap to our finger and it disperses. We also added water to our skittles and watched the colours mix together to make what J described as ’oil splashes on the ground.” #rockinghamscience @rockinghamrh3

A tray of slime inspiring curiosity, using senses and describing texture. Look at the joy in the children’s faces as they transport the slime. Promoting problem solving, trial and error and expanding on mathematical vocabulary such as heavy and light/more and less. CL

After reading ’The Gruffalo’s Child’ we explored torches and shadow puppets to create and retell stories. This sparked so much enjoyment and fascination whilst discussing how to make the characters appear smaller and larger.
