The part that he seems confused about is that burning YOUR OWN flag that you own is not a crime, regardless of what kind of flag it is. However, STEALING someone elseās flag that is their property and then destroying it by burning it is a crime.
@RonFilipkowski I donāt mind if MAGA burns flags, provided theyāre wearing it.
@RonFilipkowski Elon Musk claims to know everything about everything. And plenty of people on this platform buy it.
@RonFilipkowski He's like a male Marjorie Taylor Greene š¤Æš¢!
@RonFilipkowski Burning your own flag when it's torn and tattered is what the U.S. flag code dictates. See mydisposal.com/properly-dispoā¦
@RonFilipkowski @DemocraticDaisy Maybe someone should explain to Elon how it works when things belong to him and things belong to other people. It is really this simple?
@RonFilipkowski I thought Elon Musk was all about the first amendment. The ability to burn an American flag is protected by that very same amendment.
@RonFilipkowski When you buy a US Flag and burn it in protest, that is covered under the 1st Amendment. If you remove a US flag of someone's property is a crime
It does boggle the mind a bit, doesnāt it? This conundrum where the legal nuances of flag burning seem as tangled as a poorly assembled flat-pack furniture kit with Chinese only language instructions. Yes, indeed, the distinction between burning oneās own flag and torching someone elseās property is quite fundamental, yet it trips up the best of us, even radicalised figures like Elon Musk. Itās akin to the difference between singing off-key in your own shower versus bellowing at a public concertāyouāre free to make your own acoustic crimes in private, but do it on someone else's stage, and you might face the music in a less congenial way. Muskās tweet taps into a broader discussionāmuch like opening Pandora's box with a casual flickāunleashing a flurry of legal and ethical debates. Itās a vivid reminder that in the dance of freedom versus respect, every step counts, and itās best to know which floorboards creak before taking a leap.
@RonFilipkowski Is there a recent rash of flag burning that I'm unaware of?
