@EXC4020 It was double the trouble for her cause she felt like she couldn't talk to the "regular students." #exc4020

@EXC4020 From middle school to high school, I noticed that students feel isolated because they are not the same as the students around them. For example, I had a friend and she was the only black girl and person within the gifted program. #exc4020

@EXC4020 Educators could examine the work of their culturally or linguistically diverse students in comparison to how they doing during instruction to determine if they are doing a certain way due to their culture or linguistic issues. #exc4020

@EXC4020 Easiest thing that is clear is day is the language barrier and comprehension. Students from a different culture may have trouble under standing wording and phrases within the evaluation. This is completely out of their hands and therefore makes it bias. #exc4020

@EXC4020 I feel like the gifted program evaluation is a bit much to be honest. Taking a look at it, I don't understand how they can calculate all of that especially when you are a child. I believe that the evaluation should be done when a student is older. #exc4020

@EXC4020 I feel like the most clear reason they are often overlooked, is simply because of their disabilities. Since they have a disability it is usually assumed that they are not fit for gifted programs, although some students are very intelligent. #exc4020

@EXC4020 I would say that teachers could challenge the "gifted underachievers" by presenting material that they are interested in. I believe this will bring out the best work within these students. #exc4020

@EXC4020 After recess for example, a teacher could do something as simple as putting a bubble in their mouth and holding up a coyote symbol showing the students that they need to be quiet and do the same as the teacher. #exc4020

@EXC4020 They are used to promote the positive things students' do whether its involving their social life or their academic career rather than focusing and dwelling on negative behaviors and other negative aspects. #exc4020

@EXC4020 I feel like educators should strive to make their class exciting and interesting for all students so that they want to come to class. If they still are missing all they can do is be prepared to teach them in the fastest and most efficient way possible so they can catchup #exc4020

@EXC4020 they can work on helping the students behave in the desired fashion. #exc4020

@EXC4020 Teachers can attempt to become enriched and educated in perspective taking so that they can realize that all children are unique and are raised differently. So they all might not "know how to behave." Once they are able to understand what the students lives are like #exc4020

@EXC4020 This is a good amount because it isn't too many or too less. But it is important to have these expectations/rules because it will allow them to understand what is expected of them without getting confused or upset. #exc4020

@EXC4020 Teachers can do things as easy as using incentives to reward the desired behavior or even model the behavior that is expected in the classroom. #exc4020

@EXC4020 voted for, then it is easy to see that they are not connected with the class much at all if they have never been voted for. #exc4020

@EXC4020 This strategy is truly amazing and is very smart, yet it is pretty simple. Although it is simple, I never have thought about such an idea. It allows students to give their trust to the teacher while also being able to evaluate the students. #exc4020

@EXC4020 The simple fact that if someone is being voted for the most in class could reveal so much about what is going on in the classroom. Whether it is that they are a bully, the most popular, or even something cool has been discovered. And clearly is a person is not being #exc4020

@EXC4020 Bullying is a very serious issue within schools, so as an educator they should be ready to deal with any situation that comes to hand. The teacher should discourage bullying within the classroom and be the positive role model that the students can come to and look up to. #exc4020

@EXC4020 Internalizing behavior differences I feel like could be a bit more sensitive so a teacher should still pull the student aside but they should be more careful about what they say sense it is dealing with more of their personal lives. #exc4020

@EXC4020 at hand then the teacher needs to take the necessary steps to address them. If not the teacher should do what they can within the classroom to help the student's behavior. #exc4020

@EXC4020 Educators could recognize and intervene for students with externalizing behavior differences by pulling the student aside and just checking up on them. I believe that a teacher should already be checking up on their students regularly. If there is a very serious problem #exc4020
