The push for all young children to be raised in state-subsidised group childcare is one of the biggest anti-family policies brought in by this government. A truly pro-family policy would be tax breaks for parents which enable mums (or dads) to stay at home to look after their own children until they are old enough to start school. Evidence shows that young children do best when cared for by their parents at home, not spending the majority of their days with strangers. This policy is not in the best interests of children and parents - it’s only benefits the coffers of HMRC to be earning tax from working parents and nurseries.
