Holy zuck, we're so back. Muse ftw
As recommender systems increasingly adopt LLM-style architectures, should we take a step back and consider Jev’s approach to direct decisions? One direction worth exploring: retain OneRec’s learned user and item representations and generative candidate retrieval, then add a candidate-conditioned head that predicts engagement, satisfaction, and constraint satisfaction directly. Share the user-context computation across candidates and score them in parallel, without autoregressive decoding in the ranking stage. The question is whether this preserves recommendation quality while improving controllability and serving efficiency. Probability calibration would need explicit training and evaluation; removing the generation loop alone doesn’t guarantee it.
Back in 2021, I was using models like BART to turn multi-label classification and entity linking into autoregressive generation tasks, refining the predictions with logit adjustments and other techniques. Seeing Jev now feels a little surreal, like coming full circle.
What powers Jev: a bidirectional encoder, or a causal decoder without the generation loop? I explore both possibilities and examine how OpenJev puts the second approach into practice. x.com/i/article/2100…

Build App on iPhone 3G
我第一台 iPhone 是 07 年出的初代，今天收到了@hwwaanng 送的 iPhone 3G，期待在上面用他们的新产品 vibe coding！
Build and launch native iOS apps with an autonomous agent team. AirBuild is the first agent team that handles App Store review and publishing end to end — submit, reply to Apple, fix, resubmit. Vibe code from your phone. Keep shipping without babysitting review. 📷 👇
My first iPhone 3GS — this one’s an AirBuild merch special edition from @hwwaanng and @airbuild_hq. Unboxed it and immediately vibed a little game on the 3GS. Smooth, playable right away. No need to build on Mac. Really can’t wait to dig into AirBuild more. Too many surprises already — polishing an iOS app anytime, anywhere actually feels fun. A modern ‘Xcode’ on mobile.
