Royal Watcher @RoyalWatcher4

I've been a royal watcher for decades, largely the continental European ones but the British too. We don’t know these people so no need to get nasty about it. Joined September 2022

Her father wasn't knighted, NYT, he was a baronet: nytimes.com/2025/09/05/wor…

@AvonandsomerRob Nope. Every queen consort has had HM status. It comes with the territory.

@that_1 The German defense minister should not be asking this divisive, undignified, semi-royal to be addressing the German veteran community.

@RNN_RoyalNews You're getting flack for posing the question, but it WAS once a question among royal watchers. I think since they're both descendants of Queen Victoria, a marriage between them would have led to unkind comment in the press. And then the UK has long opted for homegrown queens.

@TribesBritannia B-b-but, Spencers lead with their hearts, Harry said. Like when his grandfather nailed his grandmother to the wall in a vicious divorce, having been abusive to her during the marriage.

@LeescoLee3 I actually think giving up their titles would be both the dignified and practical thing for them to do, for a host of reasons. But I don't think it will ever happen. They're clinging on to them.

@BlogMathilde Thank you for posting. Handsome couple. At the risk of asking a crass question, would the groom be considered nobility? I see from googling him he has a lot of long, aristocratic sounding names in his family tree.

@Melanated_Mona She's of both a generation and a class where no different could have been expected.

@Melanated_Mona Jobs, something amounting to a career beyond working for her parents. I can sympathise with her difficulties and with floundering in one's twenties. It is what it is. I just don't buy that the paparazzi bears all the blame for her not doing more.

@Karibbiii @Melanated_Mona She had challenges, yes, but other young people in the public eye have managed careers. I think part of her problem was she didn't know what she wanted to do. That Jigsaw job probably didn't represent some great career passion.

@BlogMathilde I know, I just mean I'm sorry the world couldn't have them be queens at the same time. For the queens of Catholic Belgium and Lutheran Norway to be sisters would have been quite something.

@thedailybeast I think it can be difficult for an actor to stop acting. Meghan comes across as having that programming.

@TribesBritannia I love the girl who keeps putting her hand over her mouth in disbelief that she's actually seeing her.

@GlenysBlower @TribesBritannia I think interviewers sense Harry would storm off in a tantrum if he experienced pushback.

@LeescoLee3 I think they're in it for the long haul. The only way she'd dump him is if he starts to hurt her brand or get in the way of the life she wants to live, but for now their love story, whatever the truth of it is, is too important to their brand and that's not changing anytime soon.
