@NickJRishwain@claudeai@StephAWilkins@LegalTechHub1 Nick, Great breakdown of what connectors mean for vendors.
The bigger question is what they mean for firms: who's wiring it all together, securing it, and training the team to use it?
AI power users are showing up outside tech. The fastest-growing Codex adopters since February:
Legal: 108x
Sales: 41x
Recruiting: 41x
Marketing: 26x
Healthcare: 24x
Charts of the Week: a16z.news/p/charts-of-th…
@a16z Lawyers adopting AI fastest makes sense.
The work is text-heavy and high-stakes. The next step is making sure that growth happens inside a secure, firm-sanctioned setup and not in personal accounts.
@alexiskweed@SpellbookLegal Great piece. The piece we'd add: small firms don't need a cheaper version of a BigLaw product. They need frontier AI built around their own documents, workflows, and security from day one.
That's the gap North is closing.
The AI adoption metric that matters isn't seats purchased.
It's weekly active use inside one workflow.
One company treats 70% weekly active use during a pilot as the line between real adoption and "purchasing shelfware."
Most firms never measure it. They count licenses, see logins, and assume it's working.

@lawheroezV2 Agree the lines are blurring.
But for small and mid-size firms, the build-vs-buy question is shifting to a third option: wire a frontier model like Claude directly into the firm's own documents and workflows.
Custom without the training bill.
So many legal AI tools, and the lawyers getting real results are still using Claude. The model was never the bottleneck. Implementation is. Legal doesn't need another tool. It needs forward deployed engineers.
At North, we don't hand you a login and walk away. We sit with your partners, encode their judgment, and build Claude into how your firm works.

6 months ago @ClarkValberg (@InVisionApp co-founder) called me out of the blue with "I have something we could build together."
It was law firms 👇
Forrester expects enterprises to defer 25% of planned AI spend over ROI concerns. The tools aren't the problem. Deployment is.

Partners: your name is on the filing, not the tool's. A UK lawyer was just banned for repeatedly using AI to generate false citations. A first for the tribunal. Unsupervised AI is a liability. Governed AI is how firms use it safely.
law360.com/employment-uk/…
Big law firms are hiring AI teams. A 20-person firm can't build that bench. It still needs the outcome.
That's the gap we close.

7% of lawyers screen positive for high burnout.
Can AI fix that? We think so, if it's implemented right. Wait until you see what we're working on.
