The poor mothers of XC runners don't get those first day of school photos because their kids are at school grinding already!
School starts soon, but XC has already started!

Ice baths- when athletes put themselves through 12-15 minutes of Hell to feel amazing afterward
Tempo- A word which means death in some languages JK not really but it is a run which you sustain a fast pace for the whole run!

The whole race your coach tells you to keep a good pace, until that last 250, their plan changes and they start screamin GO and you take off
Coaches scream "KICK" to their runner towards the end of the race, this pretty much means pick up the speed and leave it all on the track!
