Rushcliffe Independents @RushcliffeInd

@AlecCave @Ashty79 @Nigel_Farage Here's an abbreviated list: Belief in our common law tradition, parliamentary democracy, individual liberty as the cornerstone of our culture, equality before the law, freedom of speech, tolerance of thought and religion Being British is a civic & moral inheritance, not ethnic

@AlecCave @Ashty79 @Nigel_Farage So what. Being British isn't about your ancestry or race. Being British is a set of ideas. A belief in our culture, our history, our values. Zia is as British as you or me.

Our brilliant candidate for Bingham West, Ted Birch! facebook.com/rushcliffeinde…

@simonpt64 @Rushcliffe It is an unknown how everything will unfold. Nottingham City has the second highest council tax in the country, whereas Rushcliffe has the 16th highest (out of 348 councils)

@Rushcliffe Rushcliffe has one of the HIGHEST council tax rates in the entire country when you combine the county council and borough council rates. Both rates are set by the Conservatives at local government. Here are official gov. uk figures proving it: propertydata.co.uk/council-tax

@simonpt64 @Rushcliffe RBC's Council Tax accounts for 6% of our council tax bill. As a whole, Rushcliffe is in the 95th percentile for highest council tax in the UK. We are amongst the highest taxed council areas in the land propertydata.co.uk/council-tax

@Rushcliffe Welcome, Adam. We wish you every success.

@Rushcliffe "It's not clear that Bingham has inadequate parking" (Rob Inglis, Sep 2023). What a difference a year makes.

@RobertJenrick @crush_crime Are you out of your mind?! This is exactly the same situation we had under the Conservative administration. Do you think voters are stupid?

@Conservatives The Conservatives run both Nottinghamshire County Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council and habitually raise our taxes every year. Your party have been running roughshod over working people for years. Many of our members are ex-Conservatives. Do you think voters are stupid?

@Conservatives Your party didn't provide any meaningful support for 3 million of the UK's 6 million small businesses during COVID. Read the room.

@weetabix @NottsCC

@Rushcliffe Without our campaign, which had huge support from the public and local businesses, the Conservatives would have introduced ONE HOUR free parking as they had originally planned. Do not forget what they tried to do.

@Rushcliffe Did he also write to the areas's former Conservative MPs, Ken Clarke and Ruth Edwards, to protect East Leake and Bingham from mass housing developments, which have caused untold misery to their residents? Thought not. We wonder what's different this time...

Congratulations to @jameswnaish and @RushcliffeLab on their victory. We wish James all the best and hope he succeeds for Rushcliffe. We also would like to thank all of the other candidates who stood. We would also like to thank the staff @Rushcliffe for their hard work.
