Interesting review on the potential role of iron metabolism in T2DM: doi.org/10.1038/s41419…. Fits with provisional data we have in a T2DM dataset with strong correlations between fasting glucose and Fe2+ & Fe3+ cation PTM fractions on serum proteins, but not for Na+ or Ca2+ ions
