i am begging freelancers and remote workers to consider working at the library instead of a cafe
why should you do that? because our libraries are being defunded and "quiet space to work" is one of the whole points of the library, which is free!! if there's no demand for the library then what ammo will they have against the gutting?
i'm muting this because i am too busy to meaningfully engage. i'm glad this is resonating with some people. you are welcome to spend your money at a local cafe *and* go to the library. if you don't like the library, sorry! bye everyone
@RyanFMandelbaum @JacquelynGill If libraries were smart they’d all have popup cafes and support a popup ecosystem! Why does it have to be one (legacy choice) or the other?
@RyanFMandelbaum @kaitarford Except when I have a call. Not the greatest.
@RyanFMandelbaum If libraries wanted to exist they would sell coffee.
@RyanFMandelbaum I might be a weirdo but like I enjoy being in the environment of a bustling cafe. It helps me focus. I’ve worked at libraries before but I feel isolated when I’m there and I wanna be around many different people, have small conversations during breaks idk.
@RyanFMandelbaum Libraries are the best: peaceful, quiet, cool, free, long hours… and need human patrons to remain funded. I’m neither a remote worker nor a freelancer, but you just reminded me to renew my library card.
@RyanFMandelbaum I just started going to the library again I love the environment
@RyanFMandelbaum But what about my little treats
