I watch @RezDogsFX and lament that my father didn’t get ceremony when he passed like my grandfather. When my grandfather died all of the Indianness went with him. He had no grave. He just disappeared. It took me 30 years to find my way home. I still feel like a stranger.

This album is the soundtrack to summer 91. When “Together on the Sand” was peak clever & “Showerdays” was an audio book of sorts. I gave it a listen today as I finished up notes. I’m grateful that I’m a bit more sophisticated. I’m also grateful that this album was there for me.

When I start to feel triggered, overwhelmed, or activated I ask myself, “Am I in danger?” I focus on this question to assess my physical safety so that I may maintain emotional safety. This helps me not enter the lizard brain & maintain occupancy of my rational mind.
