The Supreme Court STRIKES DOWN a New York gun-control law that required people to show "proper cause" to get a license to carry a concealed handgun outside the home. The vote is 6-3. supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf…
@SCOTUSblog So does this mean "shall issue"concealed-carry permits is now in all states?
@SCOTUSblog I genuinely wish it were easy to leave the US & move to another country bc the road this SCOTUS is sending us down is absolutely terrifying & as I’m getting ready to start a family,I fear raising kids in this right wing extremist country. Our court is compromised & we’re screwed
@SCOTUSblog Can someone please point to the word "own" in the 2nd Amendment? It's not there. It isn't in Heller either. Scalia avoided it. We're having the wrong gun debate. There IS NO enumerated right to individual gun ownership in our Constitution.
@SCOTUSblog "In 1791, when the Second Amendment was adopted, there were no police departments, and many families lived alone on isolated farms or on the frontiers." Hello Sam. That's not a rationale for 2022.
@SCOTUSblog So, just so I'm clear, I can carry a concealed handgun into the Supreme Court while it's in session, right?
@SCOTUSblog This has been sourced from the UK. In the UK, when applying for a firearm certificate/licence (for ownership) requires a reason for such application, i.e for competition sporting, target or vermin control. Even with a certificate, no firearms can ever be ‘carried’ in public.
@SCOTUSblog Just what we need more concealed weapons...NOT. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
