Today, the Ontario government announced they are“working on a plan” for #PaidSickDays. Well, here is our plan. It’s been tested AND it works: Paid sick days must be: -Employer delivered -Universal -Permanent -Adequate Anything less, won’t work. thestar.com/opinion/contri…
I suggest everyone familiarize themselves with @DecentWorkHlth’s demands in the coming weeks as we see a “plan”. It’s important we understand what works & what doesn’t to not be fooled into believing we have #PaidSickDays. The plan is outlined here: d3n8a8pro7vhmx.cloudfront.net/dwhn/pages/135…
@SGaibrie Not likely. @fordnation promised more staff and hours of care for #LTC, but came out with plan that will take four years and still fall short of what experts are calling for.
@SGaibrie Ford also said today that he didn’t want to “burden” businesses with it so I don’t have much confidence in what they will propose. 🙄
@SGaibrie Yes. They're working on a plan. They are gauging how successful @fordnation's crying today had boosted his ratings. Based on that, they will decide how much of #PaidSickDays to cry off.
@SGaibrie Thank you for your work! Sadly, your group and Ford gov't won't find alignment on measures b/c you have different goals. Yours is to save lives. Doug's is to get re-elected, so his will be govt delivered to min cost, and protect PC donors. Doug Ford does not listen to experts.
