So happy that I’m getting back to gaming. Having a blast with Outcast again. I’m lucky enough to have enough disposable income to take chances on games, but Outcast has been a perfect example of why you should. Fantastic game that’s not getting enough love. #Xbox
@danno_omen Understand money is important but there's a far too large reliance on Metacritic/Open Critic/Review scores imho.
@sangriaz @danno_omen Agreed. I do use reviews from some relatively trusted sources as one of the factors that help me decide to buy/wait/skip ... but ignore the number they assign and just read the text. Then watch gameplay vids, then listen up for word-of-mouth, consider developer track record, etc.
@SMania999 @danno_omen Some reviews are mind baffling. Text is all praise, no negativity and then final score 70... I'm like huh?
@sangriaz @danno_omen I think in many cases online review outlets give a number that will shock/surprise/be an on-purpose outlier (too high or too low). People browsing Google or Metacritic will see the weird number, say "What, really?!" and then click on the review. Engagement achieved.
