@ConorMcGahey If my research is right - the Avs record from 1/1 - 3/17 was 25-5-4. The 2026 the team is 14-9-4. Sure, the 22 team trailed off near the end but they had basically locked everything up. This is not just a blip - this team has been slumping for 3 months now. It's a concern.

@ryanwhitney6 Money talks - Alberta paid big $$$ to host this. I think it will be good on ice of course but damn - is Edmonton and Calgary in February really where people wanna travel to?

@AdoHernandez27 @MileHighHockey @MHH_LAB I mean - I'm not happy with the trade but Necas is a far better return than a first rounder for the Avs window and there's no chance you're getting Necas or another top 15 point guy + 1st rounder.

@ProducerDrew_ Maybe it will work out - and Necas really goes great with the Avs and the front office looks really smart. Or it looks like a power hungry front office shipped off a franchise legend still in his prime, closing the Avs window for a long time.

@ProducerDrew_ So the Avs shipped away a franchise core player, fan favorite, locker room favorite, everything to risk that Necas would be say ~75% of the production for a few mill less pay? Not even considering Drury's 1.75m which eats away at that savings.

@ProducerDrew_ Also, the cap is going to go up every year - next season 13.5m is going to be 6.8% of the cap. Years following it will drop. Necas is already making 6.5m, is a UFA after next season and is going to make at least 8-9m assuming he keeps a ~PPG pace.. maybe more.

@ProducerDrew_ Expecting him to sign any less than 13m-13.5m is kind of crazy. He's an elite, superstar player in this league. UFA teams are likely going to lineup to pay him north of 14m.

@jflowers3286 @citchmook All we need is league average .900 SV% - Unfortunately Georgiev can't provide that reliably. He's toast it seems.

@DaxFTR On the plus side I've noticed the bigger news sites (CNN for example) went from it being a tiny link to a second headline now. I think as more images came out the true impact is being seen now.

Live Nation, Bank of America Stadium execs, Mayor Vi Lyles and Charlotte Center City Partners are holding a press conference Thursday morning to make a "special 2025 concert announcement." In addition to the announcement, they will highlight the impact of major concerts on CLT

@Eurolanche We don't have his cap space to replace him, we can't cut him, and even if we could, 6m isn't gonna replace what he brings to the team, so people just want him to get his shit together and be well again so he can be the top tier player we know he can be

@Eurolanche We should be pissed, I think we look back at last season as a great chance to win a cup and we didn't and it's in no small part because of Nuke... that being said what other choice do fans and the team have? Nuke will be back as an Av.
