JUST IN: Portland considers requiring a paid human “safety operator” inside every driverless robotaxi to protect jobs.

@wyp100 Now you're asking the right questions. And now you need to think about it a little more.

True. It's hard to argue against something that's already happening. I still want to be optimistic about it, though. I seriously think indie devs need to raise the bar and move beyond gimmicky games. You need either a genuinely strong game design, an established audience, or a game with real depth and complexity. Anything that doesn't offer something compelling enough to stand out is probably doomed in an increasingly crowded market.

@elonmusk I'm sure the big brains at X have already thought of this, but how about launching a platform within X where users can create, publish, and play games? Even if only small games at first. Creators could monetize their games based on verified human players, engagement, and other relevant metrics. Billion-dollar idea, if you ask me. I humbly request just 0.01% of the profits, paid bimonthly. I'm a reasonable man.

@honowotweets Is this not art? Is there no intent? Am I not human enough for thee? Speak, Horatio, or forever hold thy tongue! Must I surrender my soul to prove I possess one?

"that no one that actually respects games as an art views as a positive thing." ===> And that's precisely the problem with the hAIters. They seem to think they're the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes art, who gets to respect it, and which opinions are morally acceptable. They're not.

"that no one that actually respects games as an art views as a positive thing." ===> And that's precisely your problem. You seem to think you're the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes art, who gets to respect it, and which opinions are morally acceptable. You're not. Your personal values aren't universal truths, and no amount of moral grandstanding or wokescolding will make them so.
