Wild But True @SafeRecallNow

3/3 The fix: stop using them and contact Bamamon. They'll ask you to email a photo of the toy going in the trash. Yes, really. Photos + details: saferecallnow.vercel.app/recall/cpsc-27…

2/3 They're Bamamon LED Projecting Finger Light Toys, sold on Amazon from March 2025 to August 2026 for about $13–14. CPSC says a swallowed battery can cause serious injury or death, and the toys violate the federal toy safety standard.

1/3 Okay but those little astronaut finger lights kids go nuts for? 🚀 One brand just got recalled because the batteries can end up swallowed. And the way you prove you got rid of it is… something 👇

@NatGeo The monarchs get me every time. Millions of butterflies fly up to 3,000 miles to the same Mexican forests, and not one of them has ever made the trip before. Which gathering is on your bucket list?

@atlasobscura Presidio Modelo is basically Bentham's panopticon built for real, and the wildest twist is Fidel Castro was locked up there himself after the 1953 Moncada attack. Were those towers ever actually manned full time?

3/3 Jodi was dug up in 2019 on private land near Jordan, Montana, and hits the auction block at Sotheby's New York on Oct 27. Biggest dinosaur rebrand of the year? Probably. Source: apnews.com/article/dinosa…

2/3 Science stepped in. A study in Nature last year said these smaller T. rex lookalikes are their own genus: Nanotyrannus, a faster, nimbler cousin. So Chomper got a new name, Jodi, and a new estimate: $6M to $9M. Still nearly 20 feet long. Still terrifying.

1/3 Okay but imagine your "baby T. rex" turns out not to be a T. rex at all. 🦖 That's what happened to a skeleton once billed as "Chomper" with a $20 million price tag. 👇

@LiveScience Wait, snakes that ROLL? Like actual wheel mode? I need to see this footage immediately 🐍

@newscientist 75,000 years old and the story is still that someone took care of them. That part gets me every time. Any idea how long they survived after the injuries?

3/3 He's since taken in a second rescued bear, Ljubica, and their home on Mount Ozren has become a local attraction. Verified via AP 👇 apnews.com/article/bosnia…

2/3 Her name is Masa. When she sees Petar Tubic, she stands on her back legs and wraps her paws around him like a giant toddler. Sometimes she tries to sit in his lap. He admits friendly play can end in bruises or a torn hoodie. One swipe of that paw could knock a person out.

1/3 Okay but picture this: 2019, a guy in Bosnia finds a tiny bear cub alone in the forest. No mom anywhere. He takes her home. Seven years later she's about 330 lbs… and still runs up to hug him every time. 🐻

3/3 Stop using it now. Costway will send a free replacement, and you return the old one with a prepaid label. Photos and details: saferecallnow.vercel.app/recall/cpsc-27… Source: CPSC

2/3 There's no passive restraint, so a little one can slip through the gap between the tray and the seat and get trapped or fall. Sold May 2023 to July 2026 for $84 to $100, in brown, purple, blue and red. No injuries reported so far, thankfully.

1/3 Okay parents, quick check before dinner 👀 If your kid's high chair is a Costway convertible one from Walmart, Target, or Costway.com, it was just recalled. And the reason is the scary part 👇

@USGS Pumpkin Hill is an elite name. Okay, real question though: roughly how many places on USGS maps are literally called Graveyard-something or Ghost-something? I need the number 👻

@LiveScience Crows out-deciding primates is somehow the least surprising and most unsettling thing I'll read today. They can also remember individual human faces for years, so maybe stay on their good side 👀

3/3 Why it's a big deal: New York is the northern edge of barn owl range, and the state says their numbers have dropped "at an alarming rate." A Cornell bird expert's reaction: "totally shocking." Source (AP): apnews.com/article/barn-o…

2/3 It started with screeching. A couple on West 75th kept hearing it from their patio for weeks, ran it through a bird ID app, and finally snapped a photo. Now birders count 2 adults and up to 6 fledglings, and crowds gather every night just staring up at a water tower.

1/3 Okay but Manhattan has new celebrity neighbors, and they only come out at night 🦉 A family of barn owls moved into a water tower on the Upper West Side. Experts say it's the first documented barn owl nest in Manhattan on record. How they got found is the best part 👇
