Would be nice to have a Magic player or a least a gamer as the next Wizards president rather than some random exec that doesn't know or care about the game. Wonder if its possible they promote someone like Aaron Forsythe.
@SaffronOlive Them putting someone like Forsythe in charge would be great, amazing even.
@SaffronOlive Would be great if they hire an old school player who isn't going to try and turn MTG into Fortnite, or League of Legends, or Pokemon
@SaffronOlive Honestly yeah I get the sentiment but that is not how business works in reality. It is a business and a business is only going to prioritize the shareholders. I think it’s sad because in reality players should be considered the greatest shareholder for keeping the game alive!
@SaffronOlive @PleasantKenobi It would definitely help avoid some kerfuffles like the 30th Anniversary Edition.
@SaffronOlive What about Mark Rosewater? He has been designing sets for a long time at this point and it would still be in house but tries to listen to the actual players.
@SaffronOlive Im not saying your wrong, but your forgoing a fact. Whoever they put in charge, is going to be feeling some major pressure. We often confuse title with authority. We forget our boss ussually answer to someone else, and that sometimes they arent the ones making desicions
@SaffronOlive Would be nice if the exec that hard branded the Reserved list policy just retired.
@SaffronOlive 1 less set special per year would already be a good start
@SaffronOlive Yeah if they could get someone that actually cares about the game behind it I might enjoy it a lot more. My friends and I have been exhausted by the overwhelming amount of crap they've been releasing for the past few years and Lorcana is giving us new breath
@SaffronOlive Tbh I hope they never move Aaron up the that position. His comments/replies to a lot of recent happenings inside wotc don't inspire much confidence. Imo he'd be just as greedy and terrible as Cynthia.
